COUGARS ART CORNER: Walk in the Park Photo Gallery
Photo Gallery by K. Miller – 72
This photo art gallery, by Conwell Middle Magnet School student art photographer K. Miller – 72, was a beautiful look into the budding spring-time feeling one gets when walking through nature. K. Miller, along with her family, took a trip to Silver Lake Nature Center, in Bristol, where they spent the day exploring and capturing the beauty that is growing right in front of our eyes.

Crazy Amazing Drawing
by L Santos-51, CCB editor
An amazing drawing made by N Holland from 108 . In my opinion, you can tell she really loves the fact that she’s an artist. N. Holland’s drawing gives you many ideas, but one is that she’s very talented and knows it.
“[N. Holland] is interested in sharing her artwork, because it is something she truly enjoys,” Ms. Lisa of Room 108 said. “It is one of her talents and she worked hard on it and she wanted to share with her school community”.

Unveiling The Vejigante Mask!
By G. Gomez-51, CCB Contributor
G. Gomez of section 51, has made a mask for Ms. DeJesus’s class. And it was a lot of hard work, but she said she didn’t mind. Other students made this festive mask, and here is what G. Gomez has to say:
Because I think it would be fun. The mascara de Vejigante is a Puerto Rican tradition. To make these masks with the following materials:
1-same amount of water and glue.
2-a couple strips of news paper.
3-a balloon.
4- wait till dry.
5- decorate anyway you want.
The Vejigantes dance and then they come next to you and smack you with a colorful powder deflated Vejiga. When a Vejigante comes next to you and smack you with a Vejiga people feel special. To me it means to be proud of where you’re from to honor your country and your culture.

Untitled Artwork – July 2021
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
by N. Lewis-72
I originally painted this as a present for my mom on Eid. While I was painting this I thought of the progress I have made as an artist because I did a similar painting a year before this. Compared to my old painting I think I’ve progressed and I am proud of how my work looks now.
“I am proud of how my work looks now.”
